The Club and Lady Captain will manage the competitions, Entry to the
competitions will be open to all full members of the club. Entry will be by
the completion of the official entry forms which are displayed on the
club noticeboard and accompanied by the appropriate entry fee.
Players entering must be available for the finals weekend which is normally the 3rd weekend in September. The draw will be made and completion dates set for each round. Format Games will be played under the laws of the game adopted by the world bowls board in accordance with the bye laws and regulations currently laid down by Bowls England.
There are ladies, mens and mixed competitions which include 2 wood pairs, 4 wood pairs, handicap singles, open mixed singles, championship singles, divorce stakes, seniors trophy, first trophy and many more.
Match Arrangements- The challenger (being the first name on the competition draw sheets) is responsible for contacting their opponent and making a mutually convenient time to play by the “play by date”. If a player, pair fails to appear and be ready to play within 30 minutes of the agreed time, the opponents my claim a “walkover”. No alteration of an accepted date shall be made, unless mutually agreed.
In the case of single matches the challenger is responsible for arranging a marker for the match. Scorecards are to be handed in to the relevant Captain.
