Stony Stratford are pleased to announce that they are celebrating 100 years of bowling this year (2023). The club was first established in 1923. We are planning a very exciting, full programme for the coming season to make this special and full of good memories. We have some special events coming up including bowls matches against The Chelsea Pensioners on the 21st of June, Bowls England on the 27th of June an away match at The Royal Household Windsor on the 27th of August, and a match against Buckinghamshire Bowls Association County Presidents on the 5th of September. We are planning to invite local dignitaries to the club, plus we hope to have some coverage from local media.
We held a Centenary Launch Celebration match on the 29th of April. We launched our new bowling strip on this day. Great new shirts and navy trousers (see attached picture). We held a men v ladies match followed by a delicious buffet (with one or two drinks from our bar!). We were entertained by the brilliant local Ukulele band.
