David Jacklin celebrated his Presidents’ Day in style, pitching his team, comprised of representatives from Bletchley Saint Martin, Buckingham West End, Slade indoor, Wolverton Park and Woburn Sands bowls clubs. The afternoon was kicked off with a spider, which was decisively won by Cicely Pickers. The weather was very kind to us and a wonderfully enjoyable day was had by all involved. David and Julia provided a delicious three course meal, ably assisted by the catering staff; Viv Parker, Maureen French, Rosie Lonergan, Gil Bunyan and Michael Jacquest. Richard Brown and Terry Aitchison managed the bar throughout the afternoon. Gifts were presented to all those who helped organise and manage the afternoon’s proceedings. A comprehensive raffle was put together through contributions from club members and overall David managed to raise a very healthy £600 towards the chairman‘s charity. It was a closely contested match with just a 6 point shot margin separating both teams but President David Jacklin prevailed, securing a well deserved victory for his rink and his overall team.
